So charming!

I first bought the book because the story seemed fun, but also because the cover is so gorgeous. Once I started reading it, it took me a while to really get into the story, but I'm really glad I kept at it since Dan Rhodes introduced me to interesting and quirky characters that all become interconnected at some point. All in all, it's a charming novel and it left me with a good, peaceful feeling.

I always suspect that "the world we live in is in fact a fiction." The first step to reveal this "meta-ness" is to be conscious - like the characters become aware of their own construction. Perhaps this the the answer to "why consciousness?": to break the frames and to unlock the the great chain of being. I wish there are more books exploring this topic.
