You can close bank accounts, close insurance policies, transfer stock, send refunding bond notices, and file the will for probate by yourself. All those things are not hard to do, they’re mostly administrative in nature and can be handled by a layperson. The idea is to let the lawyers focus on their areas of expertise while you focus on those administrative items.

Very informative Book!

I thought the authors did an excellent job in explaining the process of closing out an estate. The section regarding transferring stock was very helpful, I didn't realize that it was a simple process as long as the proper forms were completed, signatures were medallion guaranteed and a copy of the death certificate was sent. Some of the tips on staying organized also helped, the templates on the web site were worthwhile because I didn't have to recreate the letters and spreadsheets I needed. I would recommend this book for a first time executor.

An excellent, informative read, I was often amazed by how much of the process I didn't know or had never thought about. The passing of a loved one is very delicate and emotional. This book was very comprehensive and wonderfully written. I give kudos to the author for his insight and intelligence. I highly recommend everyone should own a copy of this book!

About the Author

HIROMI HAYASHI was born in Japan in 1963. While she loved origami just as much as any Japanese child would, it was not until her beloved daughter was hospitalized that she found that origami can encourage others. Just then, she encountered a book called Origami Kyoushitu-Hana -meaning paper-folding classroom for flowers-written by Dokuotei Nakamura, and was fascinated by the art of turning origami paper into flowers. She has been creating various flowers in her own style ever since, and now resides east of Tokyo, in Chiba City.

Nicely diagrammed flower folds with pretty results

I am a long-time origami fan, though my skills are only intermediate. I had no problem with any of the diagrams in this book, but I would guess that it might be a bit intimidating to a beginner. The absolute beginner who is not familiar with origami diagrams might want to start with a "easy origami" book first which shows the standard fold symbols with step by step instructions. Still, the standard folding symbols are not hard to learn, and there are no complex folds in this book, so a beginner could probably figure it out from this book with some patience. It could use a bit more detail on assembling the flowers. There are lots of good closeup pictures of the finished flowers, and you can figure it out from those, but a walk through on the first flower of how it is done would have been nice.
The flowers are very detailed and nice looking when completed, and they are diagrammed clearly. I found no errors in the diagrams.

Beautiful results, if you can find out how to get there

If you are fairly skilled at paper folding, then you'll probably enjoy the problem solving this book presents. The full color pictures at the beginning of the book are beautiful and detailed (which often helps when trying to figure out what the end product should look like).

However, This book is not for beginners. Page 33 may have definitions of Origami Symbols, but the page by page instructions are incomplete.

For example, the Dahlia on page 77. There are a couple missing steps between 10 and 11. To find the shape you want, the best example I can direct you to is the page 33 directions, row 4 where it says "Push inside and flatten." That's basically what you are doing to acheive the shape in step number 11.

Also, the page 34 "Basic Hexagon" instructions haven't worked very well for me. I went on line to a German origami site and found better instructions... even though I don't speak German.

All in all I am enjoying the book, and am not disappointed that I purchased it. It just gets frustrating on occasion, and I'm glad that I know enough about paper folding to be able to figure these things out.

About the Author
Carole Miller is associate professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction, Faculty of Education, University of Victoria. Her primary area of research is the relationship of drama to learning across the curriculum. She is coauthor of Learning to Teach Drama (Heinemann, 2000).

Juliana Saxton is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Theatre, University of Victoria. Coauthor of Teaching Drama: A Mind of Many Wonders and Asking Better Questions, she is a recipient of the University of Victoria Alumni Association Excellence in Teaching Award and of the AATE Campton Bell Lifetime Achievement Award.

Take your students into the story

Into the Story: Language in Action Through Drama is an easily accessible and thoroughly researched book that I unequivocally recommend to all to all teachers of drama and children's literature, regardless of experience. The book presents a well-argued approach to the value and uses of the story drama structures followed by ten story drama structures, each one based on a different picture story book. Each of the structures is clearly outlined as a detailed lesson plan for the drama structure, complete with a rationale for story choice, key understandings and questions, details of possible extension activities, resources and materials needed for the drama. To run each drama you need a copy of the stories, which are easily accessed from libraries and book stores.

Miller and Saxton have been working on this book for five years, testing and re-testing the structures with different groups of students and student teachers. It is no surprise, therefore, that the text itself is as flawless and beautifully crafted as the drama structures the book contains. I have been fortunate enough to be a participant in several workshops run by Miller and Saxton, and each time have been struck by the power of their high-quality masterful teaching. Their work delves to the depths of the stories that they work with and drives to the heart of what it might be to be human in the 21st century. What is most impressive to me about Into the Story: Language in Action Through Drama is that it captures the quality of their teaching and thinking and makes it accessible to other practitioners.

Practical and Well structured

This book is very easy to read. Each chapter focuses on a structured story drama that can be followed exactly or used with other activities. It also lists necessary resources and contains some blackline masters.
I have read two of the chapters and I am already thinking about how to use the lessons themselves as well as how to adapt some of the activities for my classes.
If you are looking for literacy activities that are practical, well planned and easy to implement, buy this book!

Written in plan language without being jardoned filled for just the academicitician. EXCELLANT WORK

Excellant book, Muhammad Sarwar has done an excellant job, translating this Epic book, the language is easy to read and understand. May Allah reward him for the hard work. I am thankful to the islamic seminary to bring out this excellant work for wider audience and also for those people who do not know how to read or understand arabic.
